WPPI 2010

I didn't wear a single dress that I packed. I spent hours trying to decide what to shove in my suitcase for 4 days at this year's WPPI Conference - a gathering of over 10,000 wedding and portrait photographers. Once I had chosen approximately 3 times as many outfits as necessary, I grabbed my bags and headed out for Vegas. I spent four days listening to amazing speakers, catching up with old friends who are now my peers in the photography industry, and eating ridiculously expensive food. I'm so thankful that I was able to soak up so much knowledge and get even more inspired for my 2010 weddings. By 10 pm each night I was completely exhausted from the day and changing into one of the cute dresses sitting untouched in my suitcase just wasn't an option. But it was totally worth it - so here's to an awesome 2010 wedding season and a collection of dresses that still need to be worn!

We stayed at the GIGANTIC MGM. It seriously took 20 minutes to walk from our room to the conference center - which was located IN the hotel.

I've mentioned Jess in previous posts since we've shot a couple weddings together. We were partners in crime this year at WPPI and I loved getting to go to sessions with her and spend dinner trying to process everything we heard. We also realized we needed updated photos for our website (and needed an excuse to take some pictures while in Vegas!). Here are a few I took of Jess.

She'll kill me when she sees this, but I thought it was cute. Walking the strip in heels is for women far more talented than the two of us. We brought our heels along in this neon green bag and only put them on for photos. You have to be practical.

The girl loves her shoes.

Wearing a cute outfit by no means restricts Jess from laying completely flat on the ground.

And now some shots of yours truly. Thanks so much, Jess!!

Other people pull off the "sassy" look way better than I do. I gave it my best shot ;)

Sometimes having a great camera means seeing things you don't normally see - hello grey hairs!!

Thanks again, Jess, for the new photos! Stay tuned for more fun posts to come and my first spring wedding in just a couple more weeks! Remember these two beautiful people? They're next!

  3. Erika, you are so adorable. Of course I laughed out loud that you put those pics of me changing shoes up - but hey, we're just keepin' it real, right? :)

LOVED hanging with you for four solid days. Best thing ever.

Your shots are beautiful, but you even more so. Now, let's take 2010 by storm shall we?
