I just returned from a whirlwind trip to Missouri to shoot 2 weddings and several portrait sessions and I had an absolutely perfect trip. The trip started off with Kelsey & David's wedding on Memorial Day weekend and it couldn't have been a better way to kick off the tour of Missouri ;)
I had met Kelsey once before but didn't meet David until that day. Yet by the end of their day I felt like I knew them, their friends and their families quite well. I could tell how strong their relationships were with their community and it was beautiful to watch them all celebrate Kelsey & David together. Kelsey & David, thank you for inviting me in to this part of your life. It was so fun getting to know you and I wish you many, many years of happiness together.
Kelsey's grandma and sister watch as she puts on the finishing touches.
This was one seriously fun wedding party. I often am surprised to find a familiar face in the crowd at Missouri weddings - this time it was even better.
My old friend from college, Travis, was a groomsman!
We didn't spend too much time on portraits of Kelsey & David since we knew we had a day-after session to look forward to the following day.
But you have to have a couple! Check in tomorrow for their day-after post.
David is from Columbia and went to MU. Kelsey is from KC and went to KU. Clearly their love is strong ;) Since about half of their guests were from KU and half from MU, their amazing DJ (and again, an old friend I didn't expect to see, Daniel Cummings) put together a KU-MU dance off. I'm pretty sure the MU side won. No bias here or anything.
